2004 New England Championship Regatta
January 31, 2004 - Luk Buxton
The NEIYA New England Championship was held Saturday Jan 31st on Lake Sebago in North Sebago Maine,
Launching was out of Nasons beach on the west side of the Lake. Conditions were as good as you can get a solid 4x4 mile sheet of ice with a 1 mile course length. Ice was a grade 10 out of 10 (yeah it was that good). We had a total of 30 sailors from Canada, Vermont, RI, NH, NY, NJ, Conn., Mass and of course Maine.
Andre Baby of Canada dominated the day winning 4 out of the six races, followed by Jeff Kent and Greg Cornelius. It was nice to see some old faces and some new ones too.
I want to thank our race committee for their suberb work: Bill Converse, Steve Madden, Steve Duhamel, Jim Tieler (aka T), and Eban Whitcomb.
