2005 New England Championship RegattaThe DN New England Championship was held on Saturday Feb 5th on Lake Sebago, Maine. Launching was out of Nasons beach on the west side of the lake. We were pleased to have 18 racers with 3 Canadians. Races were slow starting due to light air but slowly picked up as the day went on. The last three races were worth the day. Dave Fortier of Maine won the regatta with 9 points. Hot on his heels was Jim Thieler of the CSI legends with 10 points. No one person dominated with Dave winning two races and others winning the next three. Overall it was a beautiful warm day, the making of a great time. I would like to thank our race committee Bill Converse, Ted Amaral, Jim Thieler, and Eban Whitcomb. A big thanks goes to Dave Fortier, Harry Richardson and Lloyd Roberts for scouting the ice.
