Sailing Instructions

Official Notice – For Friday, January, 30

Date Updated: 29 January 2026

The Skipper’s meeting is scheduled for 9 AM at the launch with racing to follow at 10 AM for Friday, January 30. Race rotation schedule will be Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Once we complete the North American Championship, we will proceed directly into US Nationals racing as time permits

The Skipper’s meeting is scheduled for 10 AM at the launch with racing to follow at 11 AM for Thursday, January 29. Race rotation schedule will be Gold, Silver, and Bronze. 

Official Notice – For Wednesday 28 January

The Skipper’s meeting is now scheduled for 10 AM with racing tentatively to follow at 11 AM for Wednesday, January 28.

Date: 27 January 2026

Wednesday, January 28,  racing schedule: 9 AM skippers meeting (At the Landing), 10 AM first race start (Bronze qualifier). Race committee will be monitoring wind chill and will postpone hourly if necessary.

Official Notice – Tuesday Racing Postponed

Date: 26 January 2026

After much feedback, discussion and deliberation, the decision has been made to postpone on Tuesday for safety reasons, due to the combination of wind, temperature, and 3 mile distance to starting line.

There will be no skippers meeting and no racing on Tuesday, January 27. 

A practice course will be set up similarly to Monday.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • December 31, 2025, Registration Deadline for early entry fee.
  • January 25, 2026, 9:00 pm, CST: Site info to be posted on IDNIYRA website
  • January 22, 2026, Registration Deadline to submit insurance and to be included in the random draw for starting positions.
  • January 26, 2026 North American Championship MANDATORY Check-In for competitors 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time. Location to be listed on the IDNIYRA website. Late registration is on-line only and will close at 5:00 pm local time. No in-person registration is permitted at check-in.
  • January 28, 2026, North American Championship first race at time stated in sailing instructions.
  • TBD, earliest possible National Championship check-in: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm local time. Location and updated date, time and place to be listed on the IDNIYRA website. Late registration is on-line only and will close at 5:00 pm the night before the first scheduled race. No in-person registration is permitted at check-in.
  • TBD earliest possible National Championship race, at time stated in sailing instructions.
  • January 31, 2026 racing is concluded.
